The Honda Canada Foundation (HCF) and the Ontario Honda Dealers Association (OHDA) have raised more than $100,000 for the cause this year and more than $1 million since the initiative’s founding. Funds go to children living with critical illnesses, making dreams come true and bringing hope and joy to their lives.
During this year’s event, Honda allowed attendees to voluntarily contribute to Make-A-Wish Canada instead of paying for admission on Fan Friday, a gesture made possible by the OHDA. In addition, the Honda Canada Foundation promised to double-match all participant contributions, amplifying the money going to valuable causes.

The chair of the Honda Canada Foundation, Tony Facciolo, expressed his gratitude to the racing fans in attendance for their remarkable generosity and support. Honda, he said, was a long-time supporter of Make-A-Wish Canada and proud of its contributions to the cause of enhancing the lives of children affected by critical illness across the country.
CEO of Make-A-Wish Canada, Meaghan Stovel, also conveyed her appreciation of the Honda Indy race fans, the OHDA, and the HCF. Achieving the milestone of $1 million raised was remarkable, proving the generosity of the community and its willingness to bring strength and joy into the lives of children with critical illnesses.
The collaborative efforts of Make-A-Wish Canada and Honda have had a profound impact on the lives of thousands of children, the brand says. The partnership is enabling more dreams to come true and for young people touched by illness to find ways to enjoy the best that life has to offer. The scheme also provides much-needed hope, the automaker says, during challenging times.

The HCF is committed to making children’s dreams come true through its philanthropic efforts. Founded in 2005, the charitable organization believes in enabling people to make the most of their lives, however short, and bringing joy to seemingly hopeless situations.
The HCF distributed over $1.6 million to various groups in 2022 alone, including initiatives focusing on families, the environment, education, and engineering. An incredible six million Canadians – nearly 20% of the population – have benefited from its work via funding from Honda Canada and the parent company’s Honda Canada Foundations.
The partnership with Make-A-Wish is natural, with the latter dedicating itself to making life-changing wishes happen for very sick children. Granting wishes, the organization believes, plays an integral part in the treatment journey, providing young people with the physical and emotional resources they need to fight illness. The organization currently operates in more than 50 countries worldwide and has been raising funds for over 40 years.
