Santa Claus vs the Illuminati

Twas the night before Christmas, Santa without his reindeer,
Christmas might be cancelled, was the greatest fear;
So Santa turned to the Illuminati, to get help from them,
He asked for the Infinity Gauntlet and for each Gem.

Time was short and the Illuminati had to decide,
Could they trust in Santa or could there be a downside.
However, with so little time to spare,
They gave him the gems and gauntlet there,

When Santa put it on, his eye did twinkle,
The Illuminati were put to sleep like Rip Van Winkle.
Santa had gone mad with all that great power,
The Illuminati awoke in the last hour.

They had to stop him, and they had to do it quick,
They had to get the gauntlet off with a great trick.
Will the Illuminati defeat the Santa Claus?
Or will there be a new ruler, under Sant’s laws?

In the Marvel Universe, Santa Claus is theorized to be a creation of three legendary beings. However, there are many other theories about how Santa came to be, but none are confirmed. That said, one thing that’s remained consistent is that he’s one of the most powerful entities in the universe. His power, used mainly to deliver gifts, has also been used to transform humans into other objects, such as when he turned the Brotherhood of Mutants into toys. If he were to obtain the Infinity Gauntlet in canon, his power could be even more dangerous.

Here in this story we see the Illuminati face off against Santa, who had gotten his hands on the Infinity Gauntlet. However, the circumstances that led to this event were due to the selfless acts of the super team. When Santa learned that his reindeer were Skrulls, he turned to the Illuminati to help him deliver gifts on Christmas. But upon giving him the gauntlet, Santa was quickly corrupted and tried to fight them. In an instant, what seemed like a good idea quickly became lethal as Santa nearly killed the team with his immense power. The battle, while brief, put the team on the defensive almost immediately. Since the story was light-hearted in nature, all it took to stop Santa was a well-placed snowball thrown by Namor. Once the gauntlet was removed, Santa’s corruption dissipated, and he quickly felt remorseful for his actions. In the end, a set of mechanical reindeer created by Tony Stark saved the day as the team saw Santa off to deliver gifts to the children. While the story existed outside of continuity, Santa’s power was largely consistent with his Earth-616 counterpart and raised the concern of what could happen if Santa got the gauntlet again.
