After 34 remarkable years, it’s time to say goodbye to our beloved Honda Platinum Technician, Gary McCalman—affectionately known to everyone as Specky. As he heads into a well-earned retirement, we take this moment to reflect on his immeasurable contributions and the joy he brought to our team.

Specky wasn’t just a technician; he brought heart, humor, and a unique energy to our shop. Always quick with a joke and a laugh, his unmistakable Scottish accent kept us on our toes (and occasionally scratching our heads in confusion!). His wisdom and humor created bonds that strengthened our team and made every day brighter. Beneath the jokes, however, was a consummate professional—a stickler for doing things the right way, upholding the high standards set by our founder, John Bellm.

Over the years, Specky’s dedication to his craft led him to achieve the prestigious title of Honda Platinum Technician. This recognition was the result of his hard work and commitment to staying at the forefront of Honda’s evolving technologies. His expertise didn’t just benefit our customers but also shaped the next generation of talent in our shop. Specky took great pride in mentoring apprentices, passing along his knowledge, and sharing real-world insights they couldn’t learn in the classroom.

His influence has touched countless careers, and his legacy is woven into the fabric of this team. But beyond the work, it’s the friendships, the laughter, and the memories that will linger long after his last day on the job.

Gary, as you step into this new chapter, we know you’ll be savoring every moment with your greatest loves: your wife, Carol, and the golf course. Your well-earned retirement promises fairways, family, and relaxation—a perfect reward for a career so well spent.
