The Honda CR-V is Canada’s best-selling SUV. Now the Japanese automaker is announcing the arrival of the 2024 CR-V EX-L Hybrid, expanding its lineup of battery-inclusive vehicles, and stepping closer to the firm’s aim of full electrification.
The 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid has been available through Honda dealerships since June 2023, expanding options for consumers and offering an exciting alternative to conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) drivetrains. The vehicle will be available in two trims, EX-L and Touring, and two hybrid drivetrain options, with some units built in Canada.

As with other models in Honda’s lineup, the CR-V Hybrid is being completely redesigned from the ground up to reflect the company’s desire to move towards EV technology. The sixth-generation vehicle will offer a rugged, sporty exterior and an “emotional” and “adventurous” interior to provoke fun driving experiences.
Honda says introducing the new CR-V to its Canadian lineup is part of its commitment to building products that are “close to the customer.” The company wants to reduce shipping distances and increase its North American production, creating local jobs and reducing carbon emissions, part of its target to reach net zero by 2050.
In May 2023, Honda celebrated the ten-millionth vehicle to come off its Canadian production lines. And, fittingly, that vehicle was a CR-V Touring, symbolizing a step-change in the company’s strategy and market priorities.
