Celebrating 39 Years of Dedication and Service in Car Sales and Leasing

Paul Pittaway has been a staple in Halton Honda and most recently, Halton Autolease for almost four decades, and his contributions will undoubtedly be missed. He has built a reputation for himself as a trustworthy and genuine manager who always puts his customers’ needs first. Over the years, he has helped thousands of people find their dream cars, and his clients always come back to him because of his outstanding customer service.

Paul remembers joining the sales team at a young Halton Honda on Fairview St. almost 4 decades ago and said, “The best memories would be from working with my retail customers. I was fortunate to sell a great product and have such a great following of customers over the years.

“Leasing wise, the best memory would be working through Covid. The early days of being terrified of Covid happening and working through it with some key customers, 30-year customers of ours, navigating it payment wise, keeping them going and seeing that they’re still going today, stronger than ever, still on the books…great customers.“

“Obviously over the years I’ve appreciated all the great people I’ve worked with. Working for the Bellm family has been a treat and pleasure. We’ve been very fortunate that it’s still an independent family-owned dealership because there aren’t many of those left, and it means a lot. At least it meant a lot to me over the years.”

Next week when you wake up, what are you going to miss the most? “Hmm, what am I going to miss? I’m going to miss the traffic on HWY #403—NOT! No, I’ll probably miss the people the most, the customers you talk to on a regular basis, all the relationships you build up over that time.

Long time customers of Paul joined us to say goodbye.

What are you looking forward to the most? I’m going to sleep in, I promise to sleep in till 7am, that’s my goal. I probably won’t make it, but I’ll try. I haven’t had an alarm clock for many years and probably still don’t need one. No, I’m looking forward to some R&R, spend some time travelling which we haven’t done but should have been doing. Looking at some quality time up at the cottage and spending some time with the grand kids of course.

Any last words for the people? Besides thanks for putting up with me for 39 years? I guess the main thing is (when you start in this business) the early years are the most challenging but go for it—stick at it. Work hard and you get there. There might be some curves in the road, but it works out. I was very fortunate here.

With a work ethic second to none, Paul’s commitment to his job has been an inspiration to many of his colleagues. His colleagues, friends, and customers cannot thank him enough for his unwavering dedication and commitment to his profession. On April 27th we gathered together to say goodbye and Paul had a chance to sum up his time here and we don’t mind saying there were a few tears and lumpy throats before the cake was served up.

Paul had a few emotional words prepared. “A page for every year here…”

“Your leadership and inspiration was the driving force for everyone in our department. I just want to say thank you and congratulate you on well deserved retirement. I wish you happiness, longevity, and health.” — Rick Templeton

“A blend of integrity and work ethic. Everything you brought to the table over so many years, so dependable. Everyone appreciates it–appreciates you and wishes you the best.” — Peter Bellm

“I think everyone would agree that Paul is going to be deeply missed by everyone at Halton Autolease and Halton Honda. Paul, your dedication to your job and your employees, your sense of humor and your ability to make people laugh under any circumstances is admirable and irreplaceable.” — Joanne Buxton-Forman

Halton Honda and Halton Autolease are losing a key contributor to the culture and success of our companies.

“Paul Pittaway is taking a well-earned retirement after 40 years with us. Paul came to us from an AMC dealership as a Halton Honda salesman and was later promoted to Used car Manager and for the last 25 years he has successfully managed and grown Halton Autolease. He will be missed for his focus on customer satisfaction and the compassionate way he dealt with and developed staff.
We all wish Paul and Kim all the best as they embark on the next chapter of their lives.” –Richard Bellm

Congratulations, Paul!
